Audrey's Story
I was a cheerleader one year (9th grade), then I became a majorette in the band until I graduated in 1965. I played the Clarinet in the concert band. My favorite class was PE, and I dreamed of becoming a creative dancer (I did not pursue my dream). I went North with my grandfather (New Jersey), and the second year I met the man I married (Jerome). I got married after 1968, upon his return from Viet Nam.
We lived in the Washington, DC area, Northern VA where he was from. We had one son (the oldest), and two daughters (twins). I worked for Chesapeake Bell Telephone Company, four-and-a-half years, and Department of Defense (Army-Personnel) Six-and-a-half years. FL. Upon my return to Virginia 1984, I was reemployed by DOD,
Army-Personnel Center (managing and processing military disability cases), Alexandria, VA and Walter Reed, Washington, DC.
I left the Federal Government, October 2004, with Twenty-Six-and-a- Half Years of service, and became eligible to draw retirement once I turned Sixty-Two-Years Old (2008). I moved back home; but later relocated to South New Jersey, with my son, to assist in caring for my grandchildren. I will make Florida my permanent resident September 2009.
I have been blessed by the best, and do not regret any thing I have done in life. I have always believed in being positive in other people life; and
refrain from adding any negative energy.
